Forest Guard Caught Red-Handed Taking Rs 5,000 Bribe in Baddi

Baddi, Feb 17 (UNI) The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday arrested a forest guard in the Baddi industrial area of Himachal Pradesh for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
The accused, identified as Sameer, was posted in the Dabhota beat under the Nalagarh Forest Division. He was caught red-handed by a team from the Vigilance Police Station, Baddi, while accepting the bribe from a complainant in connection with settling a tree-felling case.
The trap operation was led by DSP Vigilance Dr. Pratibha Chauhan. According to officials, the complainant had approached the Vigilance Department alleging that the forest guard had demanded ₹5,000 to resolve a case related to illegal tree cutting. Acting on the complaint, the Vigilance team laid a trap and apprehended the accused on the spot while accepting the bribe amount.
