Foreign Secretary Misri calls on Nepal PM Oli, discusses ways to boost bilateral cooperation

Kathmandu/New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Sunday paid a courtesy call on Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and discussed ways to provide an impetus to various sectors of bilateral cooperation.
Foreign Secretary Misri also called on Nepal President Ramchandra Paudel.
The Indian Foreign Secretary’s visit to Nepal is the first high-level one since the formation of the KP Sharma Oli government last month after ousting the government of Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The Indian Embassy in Nepal said in posts on X:
“Foreign Secretary @VikramMisri called on Rt. Hon'ble Prime Minister of Nepal, Mr. K.P. Sharma Oli @kpsharmaoli. FS reaffirmed India and Nepal’s civilizational, close and multifaceted relationship & discussed ways to provide an impetus to various sectors of bilateral cooperation. “
“Foreign Secretary @VikramMisri paid a courtesy call on Rt. Hon'ble President of Nepal, Mr. Ramchandra Paudel. While conveying greetings of the Indian leadership, he discussed ways to further strengthen India-Nepal ties across all sectors.”
Earlier, Foreign Secretary Misri and Maniram Gelal, Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, Govt of Nepal jointly inaugurated the new building of Nepal Bhasha Parishad in Kathmandu, built under India’s post-earthquake reconstruction grant.
The Foreign Secretary also planted a sapling of Nili Gulmohar at the Indian Embassy complex.
The Indian Embassy in posts on X said:
“Foreign Secretary @VikramMisri & Mr Maniram Gelal, Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, Govt of Nepal jointly inaugurated the new building of Nepal Bhasha Parishad in Kathmandu, built under India’s post-earthquake reconstruction grant.”
“In keeping with PM @narendramodi's call of Ek Ped Ma ke Naam, Foreign Secretary @VikramMisri planted a sapling of Nili Gulmohar @IndiaInNepal Complex on 11 August 2024.#Plant4Mother”.
Misri arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday morning for a two-day official visit.
