Flight operations impacted after Iran's missile attacks against US bases in Qatar

Thiruvananthapuram, June 24 (UNI) Due to the closure of airspace in the Middle East after Iran launched missiles towards US bases in Qatar, flight operations from Thiruvananthapuram and Cochin International Airports have been impacted.
"Due to the evolving situation in the Middle East, certain flights may be delayed, rerouted, or cancelled as a precautionary measure," a release said.
"Passengers are requested to check with their respective airlines on the status of their flights before arriving at the airport," it added.
The affected flight services were Al953 COK-DOH, SG018 COK-DXB, 6E1403 COK-AUH, 6E1493 COK-RKT, 6E1271 COK-MCT, 6E1272 MCT-COK, 6E1206/055 BAH-COK-DMM, SG017 DXB-COK, 6E1404 AUH-COK.
The TRV-Bahrain Gulf Air flight is returning back to TRV due to the closure of Qatar airspace. The departure of Air India Express Dammam and Dubai services was delayed. Passengers are waiting at the airport security hold area.
Emirates-Dubai and Qatar Airways-Doha services are also on hold. Passengers are requested to wait outside the terminal.
An Air India Express flight that departed at 1853 hours from Kochi has been diverted to Muscat.
Air India’s Doha-bound flight, scheduled at 0053 hrs, and Spice Jet COK-DXB have been cancelled.
A Qatar Airways flight scheduled to arrive at COK at 0253 hrs on Tuesday has been delayed, affecting its return leg as well. Air Arabia, COK-AUH, is also delayed.
Later this morning, following the opening of the airspace of the Middle East, Emirates (TRV-Dubai), Etihad (TRV-Abu Dhabi), and Air Arabia (TRV-Sharjah) flights have landed and departed early morning, the release added.
Cancelled flights from Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday early morning were Air India Express (Muscat, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Dubai), Qatar Airways (Doha), Kuwait Airways (Kuwait), and IndiGo (Sharjah).
Additional seating arrangements for passengers and counters for airlines are being set up in Terminal 2 for handling the situation. Additional staff were deployed in the terminal for support at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
