Fire breaks out in building housing Bengal election office in Kolkata

Kolkata, June 23 (UNI) A fire broke out at the iconic Balmer Lawrie multi-storied building in the heart of the city at Dalhousie area housing many offices, including that of West Bengal Election Department office, officials said on Monday.
The fire broke out on the first floor where the election department office is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors, sources said.
They said the whole building was evacuated even as counting of votes for the Kaliganj assembly bypoll was in progress.
