FIR filed against four in Rohtak ASI Sandeep Lather suicide case; Family refuses post-mortem

Chandigarh, Oct 15 (UNI) In Rohtak, Haryana, an FIR has been registered in connection with the suicide of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sandeep Lather, naming four individuals, including IAS officer Amneet P. Kumar, the wife of senior IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, and her brother, Punjab AAP legislator Amit Ratan. IPS gunman Sushil and associate Sunil are also among those listed in the FIR.
Authorities, including Chief Minister’s OSD Virender Singh, have been engaging with the bereaved family to persuade them to allow the post-mortem, which is scheduled for Thursday. However, the family has so far refused, keeping ASI Lather’s body at his maternal uncle’s residence in Ladhout village, Rohtak.
ASI Lather reportedly took his own life on Tuesday, around 1 PM, at a small structure in his uncle’s fields on Dhamar Road, using his service revolver. Before his death, he recorded a video and left a four-page suicide note accusing IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar of serious corruption.
