Finn Wolfhard reunites with Stranger Things co-stars on ‘SNL’

Los Angeles, Jan 19 (UNI) Finn Wolfhard’s recent appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ turned into a delightful reunion when his ‘Stranger Things’ co-stars and close friends Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin hilariously crashed his opening monologue, according to Deadline.
Wolfhard, who played Mike Wheeler in the hit Netflix series, began his monologue by joking about finally being an adult. Reflecting on the end of ‘Stranger Things’, he quipped that while many still see him as the kid from the show, he is now 23 and ready to embrace adulthood.
Poking fun at himself, he proudly pointed out his facial hair, joking that even if it was just one hair, “the party starts when the first guest arrives,” as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.
As he declared, “Meet the new me, the man me. Stranger Things is over, and I’m not a kid anymore,” Matarazzo and McLaughlin made a surprise entrance.
Playing along, they shouted, “And neither are we!” prompting loud applause from the audience. The duo added another joke, saying that being labeled “former child stars” in headlines usually “can only mean good things.”
Wolfhard’s SNL stint came just weeks after he revealed plans to shift his focus more toward music. The actor shared that while he still wants to act, he intends to take on projects only if he truly connects with them.
He also said he plans to tour with his band and record a new album featuring music he has written over the past two years, according to Deadline.
Meanwhile, Stranger Things wrapped up its journey with a fifth and final season released in three parts—Volume 1 on November 26, Volume 2 on December 25, and the series finale on December 31, which also received a theatrical release.
The final episode, running two hours and eight minutes, became the longest episode in the show’s history.
