Figaro ropes in Sunil Grover for new campaign

Bengaluru, July 15 (UNI) Figaro, one of India's leading olive oil brands owned by global olive oil major Deoleo, on Wednesday unveiled a refreshed brand identity, redesigned packaging and a new nationwide campaign featuring actor-comedian Sunil Grover as it seeks to strengthen its position in India's growing olive oil market.
The company said the rebranding is aimed at reinforcing Figaro's positioning as a multipurpose olive oil brand while accelerating category growth in India, a strategic market for Deoleo. The campaign will be rolled out across television, digital, influencer and retail platforms.
India's olive oil market is currently estimated at around Rs 880 crore and continues to witness sustained growth, presenting significant opportunities to increase household penetration and expand category adoption, the company said.
A key element of the brand refresh is Figaro's focus on its multipurpose proposition, which now contributes nearly 48 per cent of the brand's business in India, making it the largest segment in its portfolio. The redesigned packaging features a contemporary look across tins and bottles, improved product navigation, stronger emphasis on purity credentials and a redesigned ergonomic bottle with a flip-top cap.
Tomislav Bucic, Chief North Europe and APAC-MEA Officer, Deoleo, said India represents one of the company's most promising growth markets.
"India is large, diverse and evolving, making it strategically important for the long-term growth of the category. We continue to see significant headroom for expansion and remain committed to investing in the market through our brands, distribution capabilities and consumer engagement initiatives," he said.
Vishal Sarin, General Manager, Deoleo India, said consumer behaviour in India has shaped Figaro's evolution over the years.
"Multipurpose consumption has emerged as an important driver of growth for the brand, and this refresh is about bringing greater visibility to that strength. Through a sharper positioning, refreshed packaging and stronger communication, we are creating a more distinctive identity that reflects how consumers already engage with Figaro today," he said.
Speaking on his association with the campaign, Sunil Grover said Figaro enjoys a high level of trust and familiarity among Indian consumers.
"The campaign highlights Figaro's multipurpose nature through humour and everyday situations, making it relatable and engaging. I am delighted to be associated with a brand that has been part of Indian households for decades," he said.
Deoleo said Figaro is currently available through nearly 2.5 lakh retail outlets across India, spanning general trade, modern retail and e-commerce channels, and the company plans to further strengthen its distribution network and consumer outreach.
Established in 1919, Figaro has been present in India for more than four decades. Its parent company, Deoleo, operates in over 68 countries and owns a portfolio of leading global olive oil brands.
