Field Marshal Manekshaw’s peer Shri Mangat Ram Chauhan donates body to IGMC Shimla

Shimla, Nov 11 (UNI) Shri Mangat Ram Chauhan, 97, a noted social reformer and peer of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, passed away peacefully at his native village Domehar in Kotkhai, district Shimla, following a heart attack.
In keeping with his lifelong commitment to science and humanity, his body was donated to the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, as per his wish.
A matriculate from pre-Independence India, Shri Chauhan was known for his forward thinking and rationalist ideals. As Pradhan of Kairi Panchayat for ten years, he implemented numerous welfare and development projects.
