Farmers’ suicides alarming, Revanth govt responsible: KTR

Hyderabad, Jan 21 (UNI) BRS working president K T Rama Rao on Wednesday expressed deep concern over the suicide of three farmers in Telangana on a single day, calling it “extremely alarming” and blaming the Congress government for what he described as worsening agrarian distress.
In a post on X, Rama Rao said the incidents reported from Adilabad, Medak and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts indicate that crisis-like conditions reminiscent of the undivided State era still persist across Telangana. He held Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy responsible, alleging that the “sin” of the deaths rests on the shoulders of an “incompetent” government.
KTR demanded that the State government immediately provide an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh each to the families of Kodela Sadanandam from Bhupalpally, Devsoth Sarvesh from Medak and Jadhav Ankush from Adilabad. He said debts were reportedly the primary reason behind the suicides, which, according to him, exposed the “false promises” made by the Revanth government.
