Farmer shot at by Kuki militant in Manipur

Imphal, June 19 (UNI) A woman died in a cross-fire while a 60-year-old farmer sustained a critical bullet injury at Phubala in Manipur's Bishnupur district on Thursday, officials said.
The farmer was hit by a bullet fired by a suspected Kuki militant. In a follow up operation, an encounter ensued between combined forces and suspected Kuki militants and the woman died in cross firing.
The farmer injured in the firing by Kuki militants was identified as Ningthoujam Biren. He was undergoing treatment at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.

CID forms SIT after seizing six firearms; probe expands to Jamalpur ordnance factory link
