Farmer leaders announced suspension of their

Chadigarh, Dec 08 (UNI) After around four hours of struggle with Haryana police at Shambhu border, farmer leaders announced the suspension of their 'Jattha' for the day on Sunday.
Kisan Mazdoor Morcha leader Sarwan Singh Pandher told media persons that the Jattha was suspended for today only and the agitation will continue.
He said the next step will be announced after consulting with other leaders.
He said that on Sunday around eight farmers were injured and one seriously injured. The injured has been sent to PGI.
He termed the showering of flowers on farmers by Haryana Police as a trap and alleged that a couple of minutes after that police lobbed tear gas.
Pandher alleged that on Sunday more tear gas was lobbed on farmers in comparison to Friday.
Earlier, a Haryana police official told the media that without proper identification and permission farmers won't be allowed to move towards Delhi. He also alleged that the people who approached the border were not the same, whose names were in the list provided to them.
However, farmer leaders termed the claim "a lie" and alleged that the Haryana police were determined not to allow farmers to move forward so they were telling lies.
Earlier, on Shambhu Border Punjab police tried to keep media persons at a distance from the protest site. Haryana DGP had urged his counterpart in Punjab to stop the media at a safe distance for their safety.
Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (non-political) have been agitating over their 12-point charter of demands which include enacting a law to guarantee Minimum Support Price (MSP) on their produce.
