Ex-Union minister Kumar takes dig at Rahul Gandhi

Ex-Union minister Kumar takes dig at Rahul Gandhi

Palampur (HP), May 29 (UNI) Former Union minister Shanta Kumar on Wednesday took a dig at senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying that the biggest lie and joke of this Lok Sabha election is being told by Rahul Gandhi when he showed copy of the Constitution and swore to save it.
He said that in 1975, then prime minister Indira Gandhi had trampled the Constitution just to stay in power.
He said that hundreds of leaders like Jai Prakash Narayan and Atal Bihari Vajpayee were imprisoned and entire country was turned into a jail, he recalled.
When they demanded for their release from jail in the court citing the fundamental right to life of the
Constitution, the same Congress government had told the court that the right to life has also been abolished.
He said that in the world's largest democracy, the Congress, which trampled the Constitution by turning entire country into a jail, is today seeking votes in the name of the same Constitution, he said in a jibe.
Kumar further said that the Congress cannot fool any countryman by telling this lie and that is why this
election will prove to be the last election of Congress, he added.
