Euro 2024: Unselfish Ronaldo propels Portugal into last 16

Euro 2024: Unselfish Ronaldo propels Portugal into last 16

Dortmund, June 22 (UNI) In a commanding display at Westfalenstadion here on Saturday, Portugal asserted their dominance over Turkey with a resounding 3-0 victory in their Euro 2024 Group F encounter.
The match, which saw Portugal secure their spot in the last 16 as group winners, featured a standout performance from an unselfish Cristiano Ronaldo and company. The Portuguese opened the scoring with an own goal from Turkey's Samet Akaydin, who inadvertently put the ball into his own net, giving Portugal an early lead and setting the tone for the game.
Portugal continued to press forward, exploiting Turkey's defensive vulnerabilities. Bernardo Silva doubled the lead with a clinical finish, followed by Bruno Fernandes capitalising on a precise assist from Ronaldo to make it 3-0. This win marked Portugal's joint-biggest victory at the European Championship, underlining their status as one of the tournament favorites.
