EU to build strong, sovereign Europe after Trump victory - Borrell

Moscow, Nov 6 (UNI) The European Union will continue to build a strong and sovereign Europe after Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Wednesday.
"I congratulate Donald Trump on his election. This election will be consequential for all regions of the world, including Ukraine and the Middle East, where global security is at risk. Through its common foreign & security policy, the EU will spare no effort to maintain vibrant relations with the US. At the same time, the EU will continue its efforts to promote its strategic responsibilities from security&defense to climate, to build a strong & sovereign Europe," Borrell wrote on X.
The US presidential election was held on November 5. Despite expectations of a lengthy and arduous contest, Trump was declared the projected winner by race callers and networks at approximately 2 a.m. Washington time (7:00 a.m. GMT). According to projections, he secured victory in all swing states. Trump declared his victory during an election watch party in Florida.
