EU adopts 18th sanctions package to cripple Russia’s war machine

Brussels, July 18 (UNI) The European Union has reached an agreement on an 18th sanctions package against Russia over its war in Ukraine, targeting the banking, energy, and military-industrial sectors. It also includes a new dynamic oil price cap aimed at delivering further blows to Russia's oil and energy industry.
Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, said the sanctions will strike at the heart of Russia's war machine.
“Welcome the agreement on our 18th sanctions package against Russia. We are striking at the heart of Russia's war machine targeting its banking, energy, and military-industrial sectors, and including a new dynamic oil price cap. The pressure is on. It will stay on until Putin ends this war,” Ursula said in a post on X.
