Esha Deol pens emotional note to Dharmendra on birth anniversary

New Delhi, Dec 8 (UNI) Actor Esha Deol paid a heartfelt tribute to her father on Monday, Bollywood legend Dharmendra, on his birth anniversary. The veteran actor passed away on November 24, just days before turning 90. In an emotional message, Esha vowed to carry forward his legacy.
She shared a series of throwback photos with Dharmendra on Instagram, accompanied by a deeply personal note.
“To my darling Papa. Our pact, the strongest bond… ‘us’ through all our lifetimes, all realms and beyond. We are always together, Papa — whether in heaven or on earth. We are one,” she wrote.
Esha continued, “For now, I have very tenderly, carefully and preciously tucked you into my heart to carry with me for the rest of this lifetime. The magical memories, life lessons, teachings, guidance, warmth, unconditional love, dignity and strength you gave me as your daughter can never be replaced.”
Reflecting on her loss, she spoke lovingly of the moments she cherished most — his warm hugs, their long conversations, and the affectionate way he called her by her nickname.
“I so painfully miss you, Papa… your warm protective hugs that felt like the cosiest blanket, holding your soft yet strong hands full of unspoken messages, and your voice calling my name followed by endless conversations, laughter and shayaris,” she added.
Quoting Dharmendra’s lifelong motto, “Always be humble, be happy, healthy and strong”, Esha promised to uphold his values. “I will continue your legacy with pride and try my best to spread your love to the millions who adore you as I do,” she wrote, signing the note as: “Your darling daughter, your Esha, your Bittu.”
Dharmendra, 89, died last month after prolonged hospitalisation. He had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital before being discharged to continue treatment at his Juhu residence, where he eventually passed away.
