Escalating global trade tensions: Trump slaps new tariffs on 14 nations, including Bangladesh, Myanmar

Waashington, July 8 (UNI) In a move that has heightened the ongoing global trade tensions, US President Donald Trump has announced new tariffs on 14 countries, including Bangladesh and Myanmar.
This move comes as the 90-day pause on some of the most aggressive import taxes, initiated by the White House, was set to expire this week.
Trump sent formal letters to leaders of 14 countries, including allies and smaller countries, about impending tariffs that will come into force on August 1, 2025, reflecting protectionist policies going forward.
