Ali Fazal reveals he and wife Richa Chadha have always prioritised compelling characters

Mumbai, Jun 3 (UNI) Actor Ali Fazal has opened up about the striking similarity he shares with wife and fellow actor Richa Chadha, saying that both of them have always prioritised compelling characters over conventional career paths or screen images.
Both Fazal and Chadha have played many memorable characters in their respective careers, which have been loved by the audience. Be it Chadha's role of Bholi Punjaban in the "Fukrey" franchise or Fazal's Guddu Pandit in "Mirzapur," both actors have always been drawn to characters that create a distinct identity.
Talking about this, Fazal said, "Richa and I have always been actors who look for good roles first. It has never been important for us to fit into a particular image or follow the traditional path. We have always been looking for roles that challenge us and resonate with the audience. I think we both consider ourselves very lucky in this regard."
The 39-year-old actor elaborated, "When you look at characters like Bholi Punjaban from Fukrey or Guddu Pandit from Mirzapur, you feel that they are not just limited to the screen, but have become a part of pop culture. What can be a greater joy for an actor than to have the audience embrace your character so deeply."
He added, "We both understand each other very well about our work and the choices we make. We respect the process and uncertainties of this profession. Sometimes you have to take risks, sometimes you have to be patient, but at the end of the day, the most important thing is to tell an honest story."
He said, "I think we both have been fortunate to have been a part of stories and characters that people still remember, repeat their dialogues, and watch again and again. Every artiste wants not just success, but an identity that endures over time. If we can continue to be a part of stories that leave a deep impact on people, that is our goal."
