Rukmini Vasanth steps into the mystique of Kankavathi in Kantara Chapter 1

Mumbai, Aug 8 (UNI) Renowned South Indian actress Rukmini Vasanth is set to embody the enigmatic role of Kankavathi in "Kantara Chapter 1".
Commemorating the sacred festival of Varamahalakshmi, Hombale Films bestowed audiences with the striking first-look poster of Rukmini's character 'Kankavathi', a portrait that defines 'Kantara universe'.
Penned and directed by Rishab Shetty, who also reprises his presence in the lead role, "Kantara: Chapter 1" comes as a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster that redefined regional storytelling and garnered global acclaim.
Shetty's own first-look release earlier this year ignited social media fervour; now, Rukmini's debut as Kankavathi has added an important milestone in the promotional journey of the film.
Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner, "Kantara: Chapter 1" will be released globally on October 2 in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali and English languages. UNI NST SSP
