Liam Neeson to star in black comedy ‘Cold Storage’ after ‘The Naked Gun’

Los Angeles, Aug 7 (UNI) Liam Neeson – who is currently doing rounds with his ‘The Naked Gun’ reboot – sequel film – is in no hurry to step down from comedy anytime soon, as the Oscar nominated veteran will now be starring in yet another black comedy film ‘Cold Storage.’

The 73-year-old, who is known for his proclivity towards serious action and drama films, as demonstrated by his performances in ‘Schindler’s List’, ‘Star Wars: The Phantom Menace’, ‘The Grey’, and the ‘Taken’ franchise, has proved himself to be equally proficient at doing comical roles.

This comes as he took over the reins of the late Leslie Nieson in the new ‘The Naked Gun’ reboot, for which he received particular praise – owing to his deadpan serious expression while doing the most absurd and ludicrous things.

Helmed by Johny Campbell, the film also stars Joe Keery, Georgina Campbell, Sosie Bacon, Vanessa Redgrave and Lesley Manville.

‘Cold Storage’ – yet another dark comedy - centers on Teacake (Keery) and Naomi (Campbell), two employees of a self-storage facility located at the site of a former U.S. military base, who discover a parasitic fungus has escaped from within the complex’s depth.

As the situation gets more and more serious, the atmosphere gets more awkward.

Soon, people in the building are dealing with the quickly mutating microorganism that makes bodies explode, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Delivering yet another gravel-laden-deadpan-overly-serious tone and expression in the trailer, Neeson is going all in on the black comedy side, delivering morbid jokes in a way which you can’t help but chuckle at.
