Maha: Choreographer Ganesh Acharya presented with Suryadatta Excellence Award

Pune, Mar 14 (UNI) Renowned choreographer, actor and director Ganesh Acharya was felicitated with the Suryadatta Excellence Award here on Friday in recognition of his contribution to film industry.

The Suryadatta Institute of Performing Arts had organised an interactive session with Ganesh Acharya at its Bavdhan campus.

Along with Ganesh Acharya, actor Sushant Thamke, actresses Janya Joshi and Vidhi Yadav received special recognition for their contribution.

Speaking during interactive session, Acharya spoke about Maharashtrian youths should get opportunities in Bollywood, saying he gave a break to Sushant Thamke, a Marathi actor, in 'Pintu Ki Pappi' as he is a highly talented and has risen through struggles.

He further said, "Artists from Delhi, Bhopal and Punjab come to Bollywood and make a name for themselves. I have always wondered why Maharashtrian youths don’t get similar opportunities. That’s why I chose Sushant Thamke for this film. Both lead actors in the movie are newcomers, but they have performed exceptionally well."

"Marathi youths possess great skills, and if they get the right opportunities and platforms, they can prove themselves. They should seize such opportunities and contribute significantly to the film industry," he said.

"I am confident that Sushant will make a mark in Bollywood. This is his debut film, which will be released worldwide on March 21, and I am thrilled about it," added Acharya.
