Elderly women to observe month-Long Kartik brat at Government expense in Puri

Puri, Oct 15 (UNI) The Puri district administration has mobilized various institutions and government departments to host hundreds of elderly women "Habishyalis" during the month-long Rai Damodara Puja, also known as Kartik Brat, which is set to begin on October 18.
The administration has urged devotees who wish to observe the Brat at government expense to apply online for registration before October 11. According to official sources, over 3,650 devotees have already registered online.
The previous BJD government, led by Naveen Patnaik, initiated this "Habishyali" project to allow poor elderly women to observe the Kartik Brat at no cost to them.
