Eighth accused held in Goregaon Nesco concert drug case

Mumbai, Apr 18 (UNI) Police on Saturday arrested the eighth accused in the Goregaon Nesco ground music concert drug case, taking the total number of arrests in the investigation to eight, an official said on Saturday. The accused, identified as Ayush Vicky Sahitya (24), was apprehended from Poladpur in Raigad district following a coordinated operation.
According to Raigad Superintendent of Police Anchal Dalal, the arrest was made based on specific intelligence inputs received by her team. Acting swiftly, the police laid a trap in the early hours of the day in Poladpur and detained the accused, who was subsequently handed over to the Vanrai police station team in Mumbai, which is leading the probe.
The case pertains to a music concert organized at the Nesco ground in Goregaon, where drugs were allegedly supplied to attendees. The incident turned tragic after excessive consumption of narcotic substances reportedly led to the deaths of two MBA students, Vismit Singh and Shreya Rai. Another individual, Sheetal Salvi, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Goregaon.
