Egyptian athlete detained in Paris on sexual assault charges

Cairo, Aug 9 (UNI) A member of Egypt's Greco-Roman wrestling team, Mohamed Elsayed, has been detained by Paris police on charges of sexual assault after allegedly putting his arm on a woman's buttocks, Le Parisien newspaper reported on Friday.

The incident took place at around 4:30 a.m. local time (2:30 GMT) in the 13th district of Paris, and the athlete was drunk, the report read. The woman in question reportedly filed a complaint against the Egyptian, and the Paris prosecutor's office opened an investigation into the sexual assault.
