ED special court declares Himalayan group MD fugitive in money laundering case

Shimla, Nov 11(UNI) The ED's special court has declared Rajneesh Bansal, MD of the Himalayan Group of Institutions, a proclaimed offender. The court acknowledged that the accused was deliberately avoiding court proceedings, and therefore, he has been declared a fugitive.
Notably, Rajneesh Bansal, MD of the Kala Amb-based Himalayan Group of Institutions (HGPI), accused in the money laundering case related to the high-profile scholarship scam, has been declared a proclaimed offender by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) special court.
The Enforcement Directorate will now be able to auction his property. This order was passed due to his failure to appear in court despite repeated summons and proclamations, said an official spokesman. Copies of the proclamation were pasted at the accused's residence in Kurukshetra, the Himalayan Group of Professional Institute in Amb, Nahan, and the notice board of the Shimla court. Despite this, Bansal did not appear in court. The court held that the accused was deliberately evading court proceedings. Therefore, he was declared absconding.
