ECI shunts out West Bengal Chief Secretary, Home Secretary

Kolkata, March 15 (UNI) Hours after the declaration of the West Bengal Assembly Election schedule, the Election Commission of India on Sunday night removed the Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty and Home Secretary Jagdish Prasad Meena.
A late night communique from the ECI to the state government said Dushyant Nariwal, a 1993 batch IAS officer, has been posted as the new Chief Secretary.
Sanghamitra Ghosh, a 1997 batch IAS officer, has been posted as the new secretary of the Home and Hill Affairs department.

Massive Central force deployment announced for first phase of Bengal polls

Kolkata, April 15 (UNI) The Election Commission of India has announced the deployment of 2,407 companies of Central forces in 152 constituencies spread across 15 districts in poll-bound West Bengal, where the first phase of polling is due April 23. Each compnay roughly comprises 100 personnel.
