EC show-causes two BLOs in Baruipur for irregularities

Kolkata, Dec 9 (UNI) The Election Commission has issued showcause notices to two Booth Level Officers (BLOs), the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and the Assistant ERO (AERO) of Booth No. 94 under the Baruipur East Assembly constituency, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, seeking explanations within 48 hours following allegations of serious procedural violations during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters' list.

According to Commission sources, the first BLO appointed to the booth was removed earlier on grounds of political affiliation. There was an allegation that the BLO was a local Trinamool Congress worker.

Scindia launches Rs 65 crore Tripura connectivity development projects
