EC permits to transfer vote of Awadh Ojha: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Jan 13 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced on Monday that the Election Commission has granted permission to transfer the vote of the party's Patparganj candidate, Awadh Ojha, enabling him to file his nomination.
Speaking after a meeting with the Election Commission on Monday Kejriwal said, “The Commission has accepted their demand, and Awadh Ojha can now proceed with filing his nomination papers.”
“He also raised the issue of multiple voter registration applications under the addresses of senior BJP leaders residing in the New Delhi constituency. The Commission has assured that no fraudulent votes will be allowed under any circumstances,” Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal further accused the BJP candidate of openly distributing blankets, shoes, jackets, money, and glasses in various areas of the constituency. He claimed that blankets were distributed in Kidwai Nagar on Sunday and similar activities were reported in other colonies.
Despite these incidents being evident to everyone, the local DM's reports to the Election Commission denied any such occurrences, Kejriwal added.
He stated that he had demanded the suspension of the DM and strict action against them while calling for an end to all illegal activities.
The Election Commission assured AAP that steps would be taken to curb these activities effectively, he said.
