Jharkhand: Minister orders action against negligent JJM contractors

Latehar, Oct 5 (UNI) Jharkhand minister Yogendra Prasad today directed officials to ensure time-bound and quality completion of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes and take action against negligent contractors. Chairing a review meeting at Betla National Park auditorium, Prasad reviewed JJM schemes in Latehar, Garhwa, Palamu, Gumla, Simdega and Lohardaga districts. Officials briefed him on the status of completed and pending schemes, construction progress and drinking water supply. During the review, instances of inadequate progress, contractor negligence and work allegedly not conforming to prescribed standards were reported.
