Meghalaya: Central Puja Committee appeals for peace and communal harmony during Durga Puja celebrations

Shillong, Oct 19 (UNI) The Central Puja Committee (CPC), the apex body of Hindu religious organisations in Meghalaya, has appealed to residents across the state to maintain peace and communal harmony during Durga Puja. The appeal comes after a meeting with Chief Secretary Dr. Shakil P. Ahammed, where he assured CPC leaders that security measures would be stepped up following a recent arson incident near the Shiv Mandir in the Mawbah locality.
