ECoR intensifies 'Operation Narcos' against drug trafficking through rail network

Bhubaneswar, Sep 19 (UNI) East Coast Railway (ECoR) has intensified intelligence-led operations against the illegal transportation of narcotic and psychotropic substances through the rail network under 'Operation Narcos', strengthening its efforts towards a drug-free India. As part of the drive, ECoR has inducted 18 new sniffer dogs, including 15 specially trained narcotics detection dogs, taking the total strength of its canine squad to 33. Of these, 20 dogs are specifically deployed for detecting narcotic substances. The sniffer dogs will assist the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in checking trains, platforms, luggage, parcel areas and other vulnerable locations across the railway network.…
