ECoR logs 3.4 pc freight loading growth, 10 pc rise in unloading

Bhubaneswar, Oct 8 (UNI) A 14 pc surge in iron ore loading helped East Coast Railway ramp up freight loading by 3.4 pc to 120.76 million tonnes (MT) during April-September 2026, compared with 116.78 MT in the corresponding period last year. Iron ore loading rose to 19.60 MT from 17.19 MT during the period, while coal-the railway's biggest freight commodity-grew 3.7 pc to 71.01 MT from 68.46 MT.
