Asansol, Oct 4 (UNI) A Congress protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar turned violent outside the West Burdwan district magistrate's office in Asansol on Sunday, leaving several police personnel injured and prompting police to register a case against six named persons and around 200 unidentified protesters. The trouble broke out when a group of demonstrators allegedly breached the security barricades and climbed onto the main gate of the district magistrate's office while attempting to enter the administrative complex.
