Jharkhand: Kalpana Soren questions SIR documentation requirements for tribals

Giridih, Nov 5 (UNI) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLA Kalpana Soren on Thursday questioned the difficulties faced by tribal communities in providing documents and certificates during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Addressing a gathering in Giridih, Soren said the history of tribal communities was older than written records and questioned why they should have to establish their identity through documents. She raised concerns over discrepancies in names in electoral rolls and asked who should be held responsible for errors in voter records.
