Odisha govt forms commission to study SEBC representation in local bodies

Bhubaneswar, Oct 7 (UNI) The Odisha government on Wednesday constituted a commission to study the population share, political representation and political backwardness of Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) in rural and urban local self-government institutions across the state. The commission has been constituted following a decision by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with the ST and SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department issuing a notification in this regard on Wednesday. Retired Orissa High Court Judge Justice Pramath Patnaik has been appointed chairman of the commission, while retired IAS officer Bijay Kumar Pushti will be its member. The…
