Tripura HC commutes jail terms of 4 Bangladeshi nationals

Agartala, Sept 23 (UNI)The Tripura High Court has commuted the sentences of four Bangladeshi nationals who were convicted in distinct cases involving unlawful entry into India to the duration they have already served in detention and has ordered their repatriation to Bangladesh. Justice Dr T Amarnath Goud issued the order while concluding three criminal appeals submitted by the defendants. The four Bangladeshis had been found guilty under the provisions of the Foreigners Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita, and Passport (Entry into India) Act for crossing into India without proper travel documentation.
