VPP backs Meghalaya Bar Associations' demand to sack Advocate General

Shillong, Oct 8 (UNI) The opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) has extended its support to the High Court of Meghalaya Bar Association, the Shillong Bar Association, and other Bar Associations in the state in their united demand for the removal of Advocate General Amit Kumar. Lawyers across Meghalaya have been on an indefinite, statewide judicial boycott since October 1, following the state government's failure to remove Kumar as Advocate General and object to the continued appearance of both the Advocate General and other outstation panel advocates.
