Chennai hospital team arrives in Mizoram for free heart surgery screening

Aizawl, Sep 18 (UNI) A 12-member medical team from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, arrived in Mizoram on Friday to conduct a screening camp to identify patients requiring heart surgery. The team, arranged as part of an initiative of Health Minister Lalrinpuii, began screening patients at Zoram Medical College and Hospital, Falkawn, on Friday evening. The camp will continue through Saturday. Patients identified as requiring heart surgery through the screening will be referred to Chennai, where their surgeries will be performed free of cost under the hospital's corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
