Bihar Governor calls for greater public participation to eliminate TB

Patna, Sep 30 ( UNI) Bihar Governor Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd.) on Wednesday said that awareness, accurate information and public participation are essential for eliminating tuberculosis (TB). He stressed that information about TB testing, treatment and prevention must reach every section of society. Speaking at a special discussion on "TB-Free Bihar" organised at Lok Bhavan under the "TB-Free India Campaign," the Governor said TB is a curable disease. He called for eliminating fear, misconceptions, social discrimination and stigma associated with the disease.
