Gandak embankment breaches, flood water enters several villages in Gopalganj

Gopalganj, Sept 30 (UNI) A section of the embankment along the Gandak River near Sheetalpur village in the Gopalganj district breached late last night due to heavy water pressure, triggering a flood threat in several nearby villages. Soon after the breach, river water began rapidly spreading into low-lying areas, causing panic among residents. Villages including Sheetalpur, Faizullahpur, Khomharipur, Salempur, Narwar, Bahrampur, Gambhari, Baikunthpur, Chiutaha and Banaura are facing an increased risk of flooding.
