Bihar: Gandak recedes but remains above danger mark in Saran, Vaishali

Patna, Oct 2 (UNI) The water level of the swollen Gandak river has receded significantly from its peak at Rewaghat in Saran and Lalganj in Vaishali, but it continues to flow above the danger mark, prompting authorities to maintain round-the-clock vigil even as pressure on the embankments has eased. Official sources said here today that the river level at Rewaghat has fallen by 71 cm from its highest level, while at Lalganj it has declined by 32 cm.
