Bengal: Arrests, symbol row add to tension ahead of Rejinagar bypoll

Kolkata, Sep 22 (UNI) Political tensions have intensified in Rejinagar ahead of the October 6 Assembly bypoll, with the arrest of more functionaries of the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) and the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) announcing its withdrawal from the contest over a symbol dispute. According to police sources, those arrested are Anisur Rahman and Sohel Mondal. Rahman is a member of the AJUP core committee and resides in the Gopalpur area.
