SCERT primarily responsible for Odisha school textbook errors: Panel

Bhubaneswar, Sep 23 (UNI) A three-member committee probing serious errors in textbooks for Classes I-VIII in Odisha government schools has held the Directorate of Teacher Education and State Council of Educational Research & Training (TE & SCERT) primarily responsible, citing inadequate academic scrutiny, fact-checking, proofreading and supervision during their preparation. The committee, constituted by the state government, said the errors went beyond spelling and printing mistakes and included factual, conceptual, historical, geographical, language and image-related mistakes.
