Rajnath Singh announces higher AL-31FP output, second Shakti engine line at HAL

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6 (UNI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday announced major expansion of aero-engine production at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), including raising the annual capacity of AL-31FP engines from 30 to 50 and setting up a second production line for Shakti engines with a combined investment of Rs 553 crore. Singh said the AL-31FP production capacity would be enhanced with an investment of Rs 335 crore, while the second Shakti engine production line would be established at an investment of Rs 218 crore.
