Odisha Vigilance arrests Superintending Engineer after seizure of Rs 21.88 lakh cash

Bhubaneswar, Oct 17 (UNI) Odisha Vigilance has arrested Prasanjit Das, Superintending Engineer of the Mahanadi Northern Division, after recovering Rs 21.88 lakh in suspected unaccounted cash from his possession and rented residence during an interception and subsequent searches in Bhubaneswar, officials said on Saturday. Das was intercepted by a Vigilance team near AG Square in Bhubaneswar on Friday night while travelling in his officially hired vehicle. The action followed credible inputs that he was allegedly collecting bribes from various contractors, Vigilance sources said.
