BJD seeks probe into malicious deepfake videos targeting women leaders

Bhubaneswar, Oct 18 (UNI) The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Sunday sought police action against the unidentified operators of a social media account for allegedly circulating AI-generated, voice-cloned videos to defame Sujata Rout Karthikeyan and other senior women leaders of the party. In a complaint submitted to the Inspector-in-Charge of Capital Police Station, Bhubaneswar, complainant Amrita Mishra sought registration of an FIR against the operators of an Instagram and Facebook account named "Odianka Chhata" and an investigation into the creation and circulation of the alleged deepfake content.
