Mizoram's High Cancer Rates Call for Early Diagnosis: Minister

Aizawl, Oct 19: Mizoram's high incidence of breast, stomach, lung and oesophageal cancers calls for greater awareness, early diagnosis and timely treatment, Health and Family Welfare Minister Lalrinpuii said on Monday. Speaking at a continuing medical education (CME) programme on breast cancer organised by the Scientific Forum of Zoram Medical College and Hospital (ZMC&H), she identified early detection, timely treatment and comprehensive patient care as the three key pillars in tackling the disease.
