EAC-PM Chairman calls for shift from production-oriented to income-focused agriculture

Bhubaneswar, Sep 24 (UNI) Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) Chairman Professor S. Mahendra Dev on Thursday called for a shift from a production-oriented approach to an agriculture income-oriented approach to enhance farmers' earnings from agriculture and allied sectors. Addressing the first Integrated Cluster Development Initiative (ICDI) consultation workshop here, Professor Dev stressed the need to increase production in agriculture and allied sectors, improve post-harvest productivity, promote the development of small and marginal farmers and strengthen growth through collective efforts involving Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and cooperatives.
