Two senior Odisha officials suspended after remaining in custody for over 48 hrs

Bhubaneswar, Sep 25 (UNI) Two senior Odisha government officials have been suspended following their arrests in separate cases, as the government invoked service rules applicable to employees detained for more than 48 hours. Both officials had remained in custody for more than 48 hours, leading to their suspension under government service rules. Arun Kumar Biswal, Additional Secretary in the Commerce and Transport Department, was arrested by Kharavela Nagar police in Bhubaneswar following a complaint by a woman employee alleging that he trespassed into her house to sexually assault her.
