Bengal seeks centre's support to make fisheries sector self-reliant: Suvendu Adhikari

Kolkata, Sep 21 (UNI) Criticising the previous Trinamool Congress government for not fully utilising central schemes, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari called for close coordination with the Centre to make the state self-reliant in the fisheries sector. The remarks came after a fisheries review meeting in Kolkata co-chaired by Adhikari and union Fisheries Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh on Monday. The nearly one-hour meeting organised by the union Department of Fisheries focused on increasing fish production, expanding aquaculture, improving infrastructure and strengthening market linkages in the state.
